Got Milk?

Gracie_head

Allow me to introduce you to Gracie, our newest critter on the farm. She's a Jersey cow, which we got so that we could have real, raw milk. :D She seems pretty gentle and easy-going, but we're keeping her in the Run-In stall & pen until she gets used to the other animals (Gabriel especially…..) and her new surroundings.

It's kind of strange having a big (well, she's not that big, but the biggest animal we've ever had!) cow in the barn, hearing her bellow (most) of the day. Especially since the biggest animal we've ever had was a dog… she's much bigger than a dog. :P Even Hannah has stopped hollering so much (for now) at the sight of her.. LOL!

Gracie has a pretty strong voice, I can say that for her. Why, I can hear her way up in the house, from in my bedroom! "Moooo!!". :P Sunny doesn't want to get anywhere near that big cow, and if you hold him and try to get him close to her, he'll sink his claws into you! Gabriel, on the other hand, would like nothing better than to wind around her legs, I'm afraid, but for now we're keeping him away from Gracie so they can get used to each other before we let them in the same pen together.

Also stay tuned for the new wallpapers going to be posted on Thy Word Forever in the coming weeks. :D I've got about 14 new ones to schedule and post!

Work, Work, and Wallpapers!

Today Mom, Levi, and I worked on raking some of the leaves up in the barnyard — making it look somewhat presentable. :) We also had to get all the leaves out of the ditches so in case it rains they're not all plugged up with leaves.

I didn't get any pictures, because there's really not much to take pictures of unless you want to see more of the chickens, guineas, and ducks. :P I was going to get a picture of my pan of earthworms I dug up earlier, but I decided they weren't really worth getting a picture of… after all, they were only earthworms!
While cleaning out the ditch in front of the barn, I lifted up the metal grating we have going across the ditch and was getting the dirt out from underneath it with a hoe, and I must have stumbled upon Earthworm World. They were everywhere.. I must've caught over 20 of them! Little ones, big ones, fat ones… I'm sure you get the idea.

I dumped them all in the garden — Levi told me that's where I should put them.

Yesterday we all worked on getting the turkey building cleaned, under the turkey slats and under the Rooster Pen roost, and put that all on the garden for fertilizer. :)

Here are some wallpapers I made a while back but never got around to posting…. enjoy!
