About Lacy
Dear reader,
Greetings to you in the precious and holy name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
Welcome to my small little corner on the web! I hope and pray that you will be challenged, encouraged, and inspired by what you read here. It is my goal and desire to glorify my Saviour Christ Jesus in everything that I say on this blog, as I share my thoughts and writings with you.

Hello there! My name is Lacy, and I am sixteen years of age. I have one sibling, my older brother Levi, who writes on his blog at Diligently Seeking. I have been blessed in being able to stay at home under the guidance and care of my Christian parents, who have also homeschooled me through all of my "school" years.
My family and I live out in the country on a small hobby farm in Virginia, where we seek to live for the Lord and obey His Word in our lives, and share the true gospel of Jesus Christ with our neighbors and those we meet and talk to around us.
Our family has come out of the Independent Baptist movement because of the false doctrine that was being taught and the sin that was being publicly uplifted by the "men of God" (in subtle ways, of course) and we have not attended a institutionalized church for the past several years. Praise the Lord for His Holy Spirit which will guide us into all truth!
We have learned so much about God's Word, and true Biblical doctrine, by studying for ourselves here at home, rather than trusting and depending on a pastor's "interpretation" and twist of it.
On our farm we have had chickens, ducks, turkeys, guinea bids, dogs, cats, rabbits, and now Nubian goats!
It is delightful to be surrounded by God's amazing creatures! Unfortunately we had to put the last two of our ducks down, and currently do not have any rabbits (though we have raised them in the past), we would like to get some more rabbits sometime in the future!
I was convicted by the Lord in 2007 to begin wearing a Christian head-covering in obedience to 1 Corinthians 11 – "Is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?" – and in obedience to the command of my God. I desire above all else to please the Lord in all that I do, to die to self daily and take up my cross to follow Him.
As an unmarried woman (and such it is my desire to remain) my goal and desire in life is to be a woman that "careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit:" (1 Corinthians 7:34). I seek to live a life wholly devoted to my Lord and Saviour, obey Him in all things.
This past year (2008) I have had the pleasure of learning how to play my (bowed) psaltery instrument, which is a wonderful way to make music. I can also click my teeth to make tunes (and generally do so if I'm in thought) — if you haven't ever tried it, I recommend it! It's really fun!
After living in the country, surrounded by my King's glorious creation, I could never, never imagine living in the city, or even town, where one has no "elbow room" so to speak, and is blocked in by streets, buildings, other near houses, and cars. I absolutely love being outside, taking a ramble in the woods, exploring nature (with my camera, of course! How else can I capture the beauty of it?) Thus I am indeed a country maiden!
We as a family run a website called Obeying The Truth, with which we hope to enlighten our visitors to the truth of God's Word, and the false doctrines that are being preached in the institutionalized churches today.
We also have a good many challenging, thought provoking articles, tracts, preaching messages, and even some music on our website. Our About Us page on our website will give you a bit more information about us and our beliefs.

We do not consider ourselves a part of any denomination, but rather are just Christians striving to obey the Lord and His Word and apply it to our lives, and overcome sin in this present world by the grace and power of God!
I als
o enjoy making custom Scripture wallpapers and tag graphics (for blogs). I love being able to have the Word of God on my computer desktop, and therefore I am reminded of it every time I use the computer.
Check them out at my Scripture graphics blog, Thy Word Forever.
Among other things, I also enjoy photography and taking pictures (which is obvious by the amount of pictures I post on my blog here!), riding my bike, talking walks in the woods, playing my psaltery, taking care of my numerous amount of animals, reading, designing, and singing!
Well, I hope you enjoy browsing around on my blog! Feel free to leave a note to let me know you've been here, and don't hesitate to ask me any questions, if you've got any!
Looking unto Jesus,
~ Lacy

Lacy,
I like the new fall pictures at the top of your blog. Your photography keeps getting better and better. Perhaps you should take a course in it.

akhomeschoolfun ~ Thank you, although the fall background picture at the top wasn't taken by me.
I had told Mom I would've liked to use one of my own, but I can't seem to take any good ones around here. The leaves are going from green to brown, and there really isn't any good 'fall colors' to photograph!
Albert ~ Thank you for your encouraging words and comment!!
I'm glad you enjoyed the wallpapers! Chickens are very fun to raise!

I am a Christian girl from England, and whilst I have differing opinions on homeschooling and other things (I feel that God calls some women to careers, for example I wish to teach young children), I admire the way you choose to seek the Lord in everything, and eschew the world's way. I have been really inspired to start covering my head for church at least, and perhaps every day!
I am a history student and I love reading about the Reformation that happened here in England. I have found women like Lady Jane Grey very inspiring for a long time now, and find the call to be a virtuous and Godly maiden stronger than ever!
God bless you and your family (and your farm :))

Lacy,I am so encouraged by your love of God and your dedication to what you know is right. I also try to dress modestly and cover my head, but I sometimes get discouraged. Thank you for brightening my day.
God bless you,

Dear Lucy, I've stumbled across your delightful blog though your Facebook group. It's so encouraging to see other young ladies purposing to be true and faithful to our Redeemer and friend.
Keep up the wonderful work and may God's blessing rest upon you and your family,
Clare

Hi Lacy! I just found your new blog (and it is Jade from Pilgrim Sisters
). I've decided that I actually really long to be a stay at home mother! I agree with you about the home being a place of rest. Since I haven't been at school I love being at home and knitting or doing other homely things. I will have to work before I get married as I support myself and do not live with my parents (you are so lucky in that respect!) but I look forward to staying at home once I have a family.
Keep being a Godly Maiden! You are very inspirational.

Hi Lacy, you are a beautiful girl both inside and inside. I am inspired by your faith and love for God.
I added a link to this post as part of a blog carnival I am hosting in celebration of head-covering. It is a carnival for Jewish, Christian and Muslim women who experience the joy of covering their hair in obedience to their Lord. God bless you!

I thank God for your blog. Its different from our Christian journey here in New York City.
I'm sure even in Jesus' time, early believers from Galilee have unique challenges from city believers in Jerusalem. Same goes when you live in modern Rome or perverse city of Corinth compare to rural places. It is written that all Christians will be persecuted, but I have seen that proximity to the seat of worldliness puts more pressure to weak flesh.
I also would like to share that the Word of God is practical and living. Early Christians only had letters from apostles and usually disseminated by word-of-mouth or preaching. There were no verses and chapters like we use now. The Word of God becomes written in the hearts of men and Lord willing, we can all mature to be such.
I also would like to share that practices of early Christian communities may differ from other communities. Remember when Apostle Paul rebuked Apostle Peter because he has a different demeanor between uncircumcised and circumcised Christians. He did not say that circumcision should be abolished, but stressed that it should be the circumcision of the heart, not flesh, that matters to God.
Our fellow brothers/sisters in China or Timbuktu, Africa may differ in certain practices —but the Word of God is solid and true. We have to respect each other and do practices that may not lead our brothers to sin. Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. God does not delight on burnt offering, not its about the festival of Full Moon. Everything with thanksgiving is like a pleasant aroma to our God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I'm currently pregnant with our baby girl. There are moments I wish I can whisk her away from influences or unfairness in our system. But alas, the Lord will not allow circumstances or challenges more than we can bear.
I hope you will grow to mature in His grace and wisdom. May your unique challenges and learning cause you to be full of grace to people different from you. May your life be used by Christ to share His words to people of any race, color, culture, abused or sheltered individuals, orphaned or with family, rich or poor, healthy or weak—-
For Christ us left us with these important words before ascending to heaven —–
Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. – Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14, NIV
I use NIV and sometimes King James because the King James English has wordings I'm not familiar. Tagalog is my first language, English is second. But God's character is unchanging even in words.
When you study foreign languages, you will see how –let's say mangoesteen is not known here, and figs is not known in Southeast Asian countries. How a head dress is impractical in very humid Asian countries or some tribes in the mountain only wears loin cloth.
The beauty of God's Word is that it pierces the heart, even now, in many countries and nations. Jesus said my sheep hears me and follows me.
Continue spreading God's Words. I'm sure in the future some child in Sudan, Guam, Shanghai or Poland can read your reflections as you mature in Christ.

Hi Lacy
I want to encourage you to stay with your convictions, they have led you to a closer walk with Him, and as long as you are receptive to the leading of the Holy Spirit he will use you mightily!

Hi Lacy,
I admire your purity and steadfast devotion to our Lord. But please reconsider your views on college.
I have been home with my 3 children since the first was born and there is not a day that has gone by that I have not used my college degree. The major itself was not important, but the education I recieved has made me a better wife, mother, writer, communicator, disciplinarian, …etc; all to be used by the Lord Jesus Christ for his perfect will for my chidren.
I homeschool now and am pouring my life out for them and for God's purpose. I have no doubt that He is using me for their sakes and for His. My college degree allows me to better teach, train, rear, and establish my children in the admonition of the Lord than if I had none.
But most importantly, because I have disciplined my mind, when I share the Gospel with others, I can speak with clarity about the truth of the Bible. I do not stumble and I am not rattled by weak arguments. I am well-rounded enough to speak with a variety of people on a variety of subjects– all for His glory.
Don't forget that Paul was an educated man. Without Christ, he was a monster. But with Christ, he was an unstoppable force at reaching others for the Gospel. Indeed, without Paul, there would be no church. Do not underestimate what a disciplined mind under Christ's authority can accomplish.
Yours in Christ,
Heather

Our church is an independent baptist church, and my pastor preaches 100% the truth! I love my church! He preaches on every word in the KJV bible. He is also my brother-in-law. Check out our website. I wish everyone could come to our church!http://libclandrum.org/ The website needs updating but it tells you about our church and what we believe

Did I understand you correctly that you don't want to get married ever? ("As an unmarried woman (and such it is my desire to remain)…")

Lacey, I stumbled across your blog from a button link to your 'What is a Christian' post. I was thankful to find someone else who believes as I do on that issue!
I would be interested to hear what specific 'false doctrines' you were refering to above when you spoke of the independent Baptist 'movement'. I am Baptist, and have many dear friends who are 'independent' Baptist who (to the best of my knowledge!) believe and teach the Bible – the Truth!
I appreciate your desire to live for Christ in this difficult world!
Please e-mail me with any thoughts you have! You don't have to post this comment
