Lacy dear you are so sweet and you are also blessed and Highly favoured in Jesus Mighty Name Amen

  2. Hello Lacy, I’m curious about the church you attend now and wondering if you still live in Culpeper? I would rather write to you on regular email if possible. Thanks so much.

  3. Hi Lacy,
I just discovered your blog! I am a headcovered mother of three and I’m always looking for like-minded blogs. So it’s encouraging to see a young woman that is modest and covers. I would like to pass your blog on to my daughters, if that’s o.k. Ms. Emmy

  4. Hello Emmy!

Glad to meet you, and thank you for the comment! Yes, it would be fine to pass my blog on, I wouldn’t mind it in the least. :)
    ~Lacy

  5. What church do you attend

  6. Hello Angie,

We don’t attend any church right now, but rather do our studying and read God’s Word at home. :)
    Thank you for commenting!

lacy, i home schooled 2 years then went to public school 2 years so please listen to me! your parents love you, yes, but….(i know what your thinking already), I believed exactly as you do now and it could work for you but the problem is if you ever do meet some one not like you and your sheltering loving parents dont have him/her exiled you will see you are suddenly an idiot who knows only what you have been told by people you trust. dont get me wrong this world can chew-n-spit-you-out. but OPEN YOUR MIND! if your parents believed in you they would trust you to be you, not mini versions of themselves. go in peace with God. P.S- you can fit into this world, Gods big beauiful world, what are u hiding from exactly? Jesus wasnt hid secretly on a fowl farm, was he….? I wonder if your parents will screen this also? oh, your perfect parents dont take you to church? gather together more as you see the day approaching sound familiar?thats because its in the bible. dont talk to your parents about this post. dont talk to me either, try someone not like you but that you trust. I have no reason to lie to you!

  9. Dear David,

Thank you for taking the time to comment here, though I don’t necessarily see the point of such a comment. I see my neighbors at least 2 times a week, if not more, as I have a tutoring/babysitting job for a little girl in our neighborhood, and they are not like us at all, and to my knowledge I haven’t acted like an idiot who knows only what I’ve been told by my parents.

Moreover, I have no desire to ‘fit into this world’. We as Christians are to be in this world, but not of it. Jesus was not hidden secretly on a fowl farm, and neither am I. (I don’t believe Jesus was a young girl under the protection of her parents, either….)

We do not attend a church, and that’s not because we don’t want to, it’s because we have not found a church around our location that believes as we do. We would be more than happy to find other like-minded believers in our area to fellowship with!

  10. Hello Lacy,

I stumbled on your website by accident, but I have truly
been blessed by it. It is so refreshing to see young
woman striving to live for the Lord. I work at a ministry
name Barefoot Living and I thought that you may enjoy
    looking at our website. http://www.barefootliving.org.

Many Blessings to you and your family,
    Mrs. Cindy

  11. God Bless you : )

  12. Praise the Lord Jesus! I am Minister C. Nevarez. I wanted to say I really like your blog. It is not everyday that I find sisters that cover their heads with a head covering. The head covering is a beautiful sign of God’s divine order in 1 Corinthians 11. All the women in our congregations cover their heads. I am sure they would be excited to visit your blog. I also saw that your religious views are Apostolic Christianity, we are Holiness but stand firmly on One God, Acts 2:38 salvation, and living a holy and pure life before JESUS, the Almighty God. If you want to visit my blog, here is the link (http://cnevarez.wordpress.com). Your feedback is welcome. Keep being the light that you are in Jesus’ name!

Lacy, I also have stumbled upon your site, and absolutely love it. You are fresh and open and REAL. While not a headcovered mother of five, I did homeschool all my children. I did lots of research, and whole-heartedly disagree with David, who said you were being essentially abused. I taught them all to love God, and they are not idiots. Personally, I don’t see anything of idiocy in you, especially since you are obviously connected to the world through the internet! You are also outspoken and very literate and well spoken.
It is an honor to reply to you. Keep on keeping on.
PS — I play the Mountain dulcimer, and am looking at buying a psaltery (plucked) to learn.

Thank you for the lyrics to Someone is Praying for you. I was looking for them and your site was the only place I could find them. Since that time, I have been blessed with the ability to play/print my own music. I was able to “write” Someone is Praying for you and I would love to share it with you. e-mail me if you would like to have the music.
Thank you for sharing your journey

  15. Lacy,
My mom asked me to look on the web for the “You Tell on Yourself” poem, as it was something that helped her as a child. When I googled the title, I found your site. I love it!
I’m a mother of 3, and while my kids were not home-schooled, several of their cousins were. I grew up as a daughter of missionaries in Venezuela, and now one of my daughters has been to Venezuela as a missionary, though at the moment she is fulfilling some professional requirements here in the US. You remind me a lot of her–you sound thoroughly fun-loving and thoroughly sold out to the Lord.
    God bless.
Oh, my cousin wrote that she had also found the poem, but with the author listed as Harold Buckles.

    Hello:
I found your blog through a link from “A love of the truth” blog. I appreciate your dedication as a young believer to purity and obedience. You will face plenty of folks like the David above who will plead to not be so “radical”. Well, follow Christ, and let David, and me, think what they may.
I notice the Apostolic Christianity. I assume you may refer to the Apostolic Christian churches derived from Samuel Frohlich? I appreciate Frohlich’s testimony and have a Spanish version of it on my site (which I have put as my name in this comment).
You can also visit Gospel of the Kingdom, which is a new blog I have started recently.
Forward, sister! Your testimony has blessed me today.
    Mike

  17. i stumbled on your site. im in shock that there are woman as young as you are that seemed so sheltered yet happy.

  18. Lacy, how refreshing it is to discover a person with such strong conviction. Oh how I wish that more young people in America had an interest in ‘Modesty’ and ‘Purity.’ But you have set an example for others (young and old) to follow.

Don’t be surprised when you are mocked for your faith. And don’t be afraid to go into the world (if God should lead you) to be a light - with this blog, in a way, you already have.
