Now everyone's probably wondering what this is about because of the title I've chosen for this post.
Mom and I decided to take the goats for a walk today, on the other side of the barnyard fence (out in the front yard and stuff). Hannah got to wear a collar with a leash, and Shadow got a halter (since it didn't fit Hannah's smaller face). They both were leading around pretty good even though Shadow did give Mom a small fit since he really wanted to eat that nice green bush that's growing by the raised beds.
So, we decide to take them down the driveway by the lower pond, which Hannah liked because she'd never seen what it looked like down there before.. LOL! Anyway, our neighbor was coming down his driveway near ours to check his mail, and saw us down there and started talking about Gracie and such. Since Hannah had her collar on, which also had a bell attached to it, and they were tramping around in the dry leaves, needless to say we couldn't hear very well.
I had said to Mom that we should go up in the gravel driveway, where we could hear better. Well, Hannah and I ran up the rather steep bank to get up to the driveway pretty easily, and I forgot how Shadow follows Hannah when she runs.
So Shadow starts running up the bank, with Mom behind him, only she couldn't get up it as easily, so I told her to throw his leash to me so she could get up. She threw it….. I missed.
Shadow, aware of the fact that his leash suddenly got a lot of slack, started running down the driveway toward the road (Levi was heading that way to check the mail). I tried to catch his leash, and accidentally dropped Hannah's doing so, and I fell in an attempt to grab it back. When she saw Shadow running, she took off right after him!
They stopped up close to Levi, and Mom had by that time got up the bank and up behind me and stepped on Shadow's leash, while I scrambled for Hannah's.
Now, that was probably something funny to watch…. I wish we'd of had it on video.. LOL!
Never a dull moment around here, even when walking the goats… And yes, it was originally my idea to take them on the other side of the fence.

that sounds funny, Lacy! I wish I had seen it. I have had that sort of thing happen to me before only with horses not goats!

I love goats, they are so cute and fun! I like the babies especially–they are very playful! The people I knew raised them for meat (eew), but their milk is delicious!
