Allow me to introduce you to Gracie, our newest critter on the farm. She's a Jersey cow, which we got so that we could have real, raw milk.
She seems pretty gentle and easy-going, but we're keeping her in the Run-In stall & pen until she gets used to the other animals (Gabriel especially…..) and her new surroundings.
It's kind of strange having a big (well, she's not that big, but the biggest animal we've ever had!) cow in the barn, hearing her bellow (most) of the day. Especially since the biggest animal we've ever had was a dog… she's much bigger than a dog.
Even Hannah has stopped hollering so much (for now) at the sight of her.. LOL!
Gracie has a pretty strong voice, I can say that for her. Why, I can hear her way up in the house, from in my bedroom! "Moooo!!".
Sunny doesn't want to get anywhere near that big cow, and if you hold him and try to get him close to her, he'll sink his claws into you! Gabriel, on the other hand, would like nothing better than to wind around her legs, I'm afraid, but for now we're keeping him away from Gracie so they can get used to each other before we let them in the same pen together.
Also stay tuned for the new wallpapers going to be posted on Thy Word Forever in the coming weeks.
I've got about 14 new ones to schedule and post!

Awesome!! I'm sure before you know it she'll be a regular favorite among the rest of the critters.

Hi Russ!
Thanks for commenting.
Yes indeed, the milk is good! Much, much better than the stuff they sell at the grocery store and call "milk"!
Our family doesn't celebrate or observe Christ-mass for many Scriptural reasons.

We belong to a dairy coop and get a gallon of fresh milk every week. It's good. Unless your family uses a lot of milk each day, what will you do with the extra?

Before we got Gracie we were getting about 2 and a half gallons of milk per week from a cow share, and that was just barely getting us through the week with the butter we were making and all the milk we were drinking.
Since we're getting close to 2 gallons right now from Gracie, Mom and I have been making butter, desserts, etc, plus drinking a lot of milk!
Yummy! Not sure what we're going to do with all of it, LOL, but I'm sure we'll find some use for it!

Oh, what a darling!
I've always thought that Jersey cows were pretty!
I think that they are one of the gentler breeds and always seem friendly – maybe it's those large soft dark eyes!
WHAT? 14 wallpapers, wow that's a LOT! How long did it take you to make that many?
;)
I'll be looking forward to seeing them!

Well, I made about 10 of them in one day.
Just kept reading through my Bible and verses were popping out that I wanted to make into wallpapers, so I just did it.
The rest I did here and there… lol.
Jersey's are pretty, and her eyes are definitely something to get used to! LOL! I think Gracie is settling down a bit more now, she's not as jumpy and she's bawling a little less. She's getting used to her new surroundings.
