Ever since my camera broke sometime last year (a little point & shoot type) I had been using Mom's [bigger] digital camera, and Levi and I have both been sharing it. If we go on walks it usually ends up that one of us is left out of photos because that one left out is the one taking the pictures!
I had been wanting to get a new camera for me, and lately I was finally able to do so!
I haven't gotten around to taking pictures of the camera itself yet, (
) but I have been taking plenty of other pictures with it and trying to get the hang of the new feel, the new settings, etc. It is a Canon PowerShot SX10IS.
So I've been enjoying getting used to it, and the zoom is absolutely wonderful for zooming in on turtles or bullfrogs! I love getting pictures of frogs for some reason! And it even takes widescreen pictures! (A setting Levi particularly enjoys), which you can see an example of in the 2nd picture above.
We took the camera on its first outing the other day, out for a walk in the woods, but there wasn't much to take pictures of and I was still getting used to it by that time. Anyhow, we had a good walk, and on the way back stopped to sit down and rest on this beautiful patch of soft, green moss.
Well, that was our worst mistake…..and it only takes one word to describe it….seedticks!
LOL! That was really a bad spot to pick to sit down on!
I've added a new poll to my sidebar, I dunno if anybody's seen it yet.
The question is this… "Do Christians (professing born-again believers) sin on a daily basis?" Please do vote.. and you can comment and let me know what & why you voted what you voted for, if you want.
I can't seem to embed it in the post so you'll have to vote on the one in the sidebar!

Very nice! I wish my camera had a wide angle like that! It looks so cool! I think my favorites are the one you took into the sun (that would make a great scripture wallpaper… :)) and the one of Levi. They are very artistic! Does your camera do that or are you using GIMP to make all but his shirt and pants black and white?

Well, you deserve that nice camera. We all get the benefit because you share your wonderful photos! I love to see pictures of the places, people and animals around your farm and I was amazed by the photos of the bullfrogs!
Keep up the good work please!

That was actually the camera that did that neat effect ~ not GIMP!
There's a setting on there that allows you to select a specific color to remain while all the other colors turn grayscale.

Lacey, You have a very good eye for light and composition in your photos. Sorry to here about the seed ticks, but we know them well, at least once a year. I still haven't found a good way to alleviate the itch. You have a very nice page, encouraging to young women. I have great admiration for your mother. I'm learning a lot from the family web-site!

Your new camera sounds great. I'm sure you're going to enjoy it very much!
I also got a very nice camera last year and I don't know what I'd do without it!

You know what, Sister F and Lacey – I haven't got a clue what you're talking about! What on earth is GIMP? I must admit to being technologically challenged. Perhaps I could look it up on the internet.

The GIMP stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. Basically, a complex imaging software, all for free
You can check out their website here:

Thanks Levi – That could come in very useful and I'll save it. You learn something new every day!

Lacy, these pictures are gorgeous in their simplicity! Isn't God's creation so amazing. I particularly enjoy the turtle!
God Bless you in your photographic (and every other) pursuits!
