What Am I? #29 & Wallpapers
What Am I?
- For the Israelites I was a source of protection and a pledge of God's power.
- I am found in the heavens, and Scripture represents me as a water reservoir.
And, while I'm at it, here are the 4 new Scripture Wallpapers I've made..
- Furnace of Fire ~ Matthew 13:49-50
- Law of Kindness ~ Proverbs 31:26
- Narrow is the way ~ Matthew 7:14
- Modest Apparel ~ 1 Timothy 2:9
I've got 3 more after these, but I didn't want to post them all at one time!
I hope you enjoy them, and have fun guessing the 'What Am I'!

I really love the modest apparel wallpaper. Every day when I go on my computer, before I do my regular stuff, I memorize the bible verse. And guess what? I almost memorized the whole verse.
Thank you so much!

Lacy,
Thank God you have chosen the noble, the high road. The path is
somewhat narrow, but not narrow-minded. It is straight, but singular in
its straightnes since Jesus is the one and only destination. I noticed your
cap and no doubt your dress follows your parents and grandparents understanding of what a godly maiden must wear. The muslims believe
that if a woman just covers herself enough, sin will not exist in the hearts
of those who see her, That of course is wrong. There is no perfect mode
of dress, except a simple, basic modesty. Jesus came to free us of tight,
rigid restrictions. We have some women of the Mennonite faith in our area.
They wear the cap and cover their hair. God says that our hair is our glory.
Shouldn't it be seen? They wear long skirts….that's fine but then socks and tennis shoes……not pleasing to the eye ( those tennis shoes with skirts). Since God is into creating a lovely world… wonder if he would appreciate that unattractive combination? "I have come that you might
have life and have it more abundantly." he says, …"My yoke is easy and
my burdon light." he says. Then there is the temptation of the pride factor….as in … we are holy because we dress like this….therefore you must be unholy since you dress like that. That would be the easy entrapment of a strict dress code.
"He who the spirit sets free is free indeed"….not free to toss out the ten commandments of course, but free to not be enslaved to little rules and regulations. I love your aim. It is an excellent and honorable one. There is beauty in the vision at which you aim. I believe in that vision and
have claimed it as my own. It's just that if we are consentration on not
stepping on the cracks in the sidewalk it distracts us from the pleasure of
the journey and the lovely view at the end of the walk. love

Dear Joy, thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment, I appreciate it.
No, my modest apparel does not follow what my grandparents think at all, as a matter a fact, my grandmother does not even wear a headcovering. My apparel follows our understanding of what the Bible specifies for women to wear.
A woman should wear modest apparel. 1 Timothy 2:9
A woman should not wear men's garments. Deuteronomy 22:5
A woman should cover her head. 1 Corinthians 11:6
A woman's long hair is her glory, yes, and her natural covering. As for your question "Shouldn't it be seen?" I think I will let the Scriptures speak for itself…
"is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?"
Is it comely? Is it proper? Is it suitable? The Bible says it is not proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered.
Umm… I have to say that I'm not sure what your point is here. Are you saying there is something wrong with wearing socks, tennis shoes, and skirts?
Christ made us free from sin, yet he did not make us "free" from obeying his commandments — and that's not just the Ten Commandments.
We should be very careful that we are keeping his commandments and doing his will. (1 John 2:3) Jesus never promised that the "journey" would be a bed of roses, nor an easy road to follow. Matthew 7:14 says that the way is narrow, and few there be that find it. 2 Timothy 3:12 tells us that all who live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
